French News Hottie of the Week: Melissa Theuriau

Posted on July 7, 2008

Today’s News Hottie of the Week comes to us courtesy of France’s Métropole 6 television network. Melissa Theuriau received her news journalism degree from the technical institute at Pierre Mendès-France University. She went on from there working for various news programs before settling down at M6 in 2006 as editor-in-chief and presenter of Zone interdite, a weekly magazine show featuring investigative reporting. She also presents Un jour, une Photo and Deux, trois jours avec moi.

In March of last year, she started an organization with five other (also attractive) French female journalists which works with UNICEF to improve girls’ education around the world.

In 2006, the Daily Express voted her the world’s most beautiful news reporter. She was similarly voted “TV’s sexiest news anchor” by readers of the US edition of Maxim. In May 2007, she was voted most beautiful woman in the world in the French edition of FHM. Paris Match has referred to her as la bombe cathodique (”the television bombshell”). So she’s clearly credentialed. Also: There are published photos of her topless at a beach. And I’ve seen them.
As a special NHotW bonus, here’s a video of just her, looking good and speaking French:

In the early 90s she worked as a news writer at local station the in London, Ontario. She is not to be confused with Jee Yun Lee, an artist in New York.

Space Hottie Revisited

Posted on March 16, 2008

Fun fact: Past hottie of the week Dr. Yi So-yeon is going into space. She kinda got in on a technicality, because that dude she was up against broke some Russian space agency rules involving training manuals. But still, she got in. I’d like to think the vote of confidence from jwiltshire.org helped the cute 29 year old bio-engineer out. Though that’s probably classified by the FSB.

News Hottie of the Week: Jemima Kiss

Posted on November 12, 2007

Hurray, another news hottie. This time up: Jemima Kiss (pronounced “kish”, apparently), columnist for the Guardian. Ms. Kiss writes the Guardian’s gadget/tech blog PDA. On top of being an intelligent and attractive geek, she’s also a huge Apple fan. (DB look away for this sentence) And she’s a fan of her recently purchased iPhone. (DB continue reading) She has a personal blog that’s interesting as well. And let’s face it, the Guardian blog is far better written than CrunchGear. So there is that.

News Hottie of the Week: Daneida Polanco

Posted on August 13, 2007

Born in San Francisco de Macorís, Dominican Republic, sexy Daneida Polanco is currently the New York correspondent for Univision’s news hour, Primer Impacto. This NHotW bio may not be the best simply because it was hacked together from her agency’s bio and a website’s interview, (poorly-) translated by Google. We’ll make do though. She arrived in the United States when she was 18 years old and soon she started studying Mass Media Arts at the Bronx Community College. She never dreamed of being in TV, because coming to America she was very shy. But she seems to have overcome that timidity, as during her short career, Daneida has interviewed a number of celebrities for the Univision program. She loves visiting her family home in he Dominican Republic around Christmas time, and is currently taking acting classes on Broadway.

News Hottie of the Week: Lisa Stites

Posted on August 8, 2007

I had to work at the ungodly hour of 6:30 am last Sunday, which meant that there was nothing on tv for me to watch while waiting for somebody to show up. This mean I had to watch Omaha ABC affiliate KETV’s Sunday morning news show. However, filling in for their normal weekend morning anchor was one Lisa Stites. According to her KETV bio, Mrs. Stites loved reporting since she was a child. Back in high school, she won a national scholastic reporting prize dealey. She graduated in 2005 from the University of Missouri, and interned at the NBC news bureau in London. After graduating she went on to work at a tv station in Kansas before moving up to Omaha where she resides now. She enjoys painting, poetry, Harry Potter, and bad country music.

(Yes, that was the best image I could get of her. There are no pictures of her on the internet that I can find. (Except for a thumbnail of her and her husband on Facebook.) So I went to AOL video, which has a reserve of KETV news stories for some reason, that don’t work in OSX so I had to load up XP in Parallels using Internet Explorer, and screenshot it. So that’s what you get. But she’s hotter than the picture.
