The Dummest Thing I Said this Week

Posted on October 27, 2006

I was at Barnes and Noble, looking for some new literature and lamenting the fact that a few of the books on the table looked like they might be interesting and good to read, but there was no real way to tell without buying the book if it would be a good book that I’ve never heard of by an author I’ve never heard of. It looked like something I’d like to read and then, if it isn’t good, return, but if it is good, keep it and seek out other books by that author/series/whatever. I thought out loud to my book buying companion, “If only there was a service like Netflix, but instead of movies, it was for books.

Then after a few minutes I realized that they already have that. It’s called the public library and it’s free.
