Dang I’m Lazy

I’ve developed a new bad habit. I frequently enjoy using Apple’s Front Row techonology to watch downloaded movies, tv shows, and video podcasts on my iMac from the comfort of bed. I just push the Menu button on my little remote and all of my media is there for me in a classy, easy-to-use interface. However, sometimes the Menu button doesn’t work. The display wakes up, but it won’t initiate Front Row now matter how many times I push the button. Which would normally mean I have to get up, lumber over to the keyboard, and push ⌘+esc to start up Front Row, and from then on the remote works fine. But there’s good news, I’ve worked out a new way so I don’t have to get up. My laptop usually sits somewhere with in reach. I have VNC running on both Macs. So all I have to do is get the laptop, VNC into the iMac via Bonjour, push ⌘+esc on my laptop keyboard, and voilà, Front Row is started. Then I have to quit Chicken of the VNC, because video really runs like ass over a VNC connection. I am a genius.

Hey nice Twitter stuff. You must be a doobie Bros fan I take it. Btw you and BorK, no idea who is the techgeekiest.
Oh yea I’m a big yacht rock fan. I’m going to say that BorK is the geekiest, because he’s a big Ubuntu guy, and everybody knows that Linux is geekier than Apple.
meh….
I did make a thumb on a stick when I was a teen cuz my TV did not have a remote.
