Fabulous Friday Random 5
Posted on December 30, 2005- The Yardbirds - Over, Under, Sideways, Down | I first heard this classic in a Chevy commercial, of all places, and it’s a great song. The melody moves just as the song title says; it’s a great groove they have.
- Silvio Rodriguez - La Maza | Silvio is one of the greatest singer/songwriters to come out of Cuba, and this song is no exception.
- The Cars - You’re All I’ve Got Tonight | Anybody who cannot like the Cars is a soulless bastard with no respect for pop music.
- The Squirrel Nut Zippers - It Ain’t You | SNZ were kind of a flash-in-the-pan band in the late ’90s Swing Revival, and while most modern swing music sucks, these guys actually had a good thing going, maybe because they didn’t have that douchebag quality that seems to come with most swing revivalists.
- Guitar Wolf - Summertime Blues | I love garage thrash. Turn up the distortion and let the old school licks come out I say.
