Single of the Week
Posted on December 4, 2005I’m a little late with SotW, but that’s okay. This week I’ve got for ya “M.A.T.H. by Al-Shid, from the Gotan Project. Gotan Project is a group of sorts that is working on combining Tango with modern hip-hop and DJ work. They’ve produced some pretty interesting stuff, including this track. From the opening line “I don’t love ya/I don’t need ya/I just fuck ya/Don’t expect me to feed ya” to the line “My mama always wanted to be a mathematician/So now I tally up the number of the bitches I’m dissin’” there’s plenty of the wholesomeness common in the rap game. But it’s a great cut.

wow, now that was interesting stuff, reminds me of the French Mambo CD I have - very funky to hear latin rhythms with a french singer! I love tango, this was definitely a great pick.
