Taken at home. Made some adjustments to the contrast and gamma in iPhoto as I was playing with image adjustment. iPhoto has some pretty awesome capabilities beyond the standard photo organizing (and it is the best photo organization program out there, no matter the OS), for image adjustment. I’d like them to even incorporate some of the other abilities hidden with in Apple’s Core Image. For now though there are programs such as Rhapsoft’s LiveQuartz and Apple’s own Core Image Funhouse, hidden away in the Developer’s Kit.

Bitchin’ Storm Last Night
Posted on August 26, 2005I was in the middle of a dream about living in the middle of France when I woke up at about 3:30 in the morning to hear nonstop thunderbolts and constant flashes of lightning. I decided to grab my camera and record some video of it from the balcony. The fact that it’s the middle of the night, and there’s a huge tree in the way, you can’t see much except for when the lightning flashes. The constant sound you hear is the rain pounding on the balcony roof along with the thunder.
And yes, my camera takes much better video than this, but I compressed the video down to a more managable size (the original was 31Mb, this one is a mere 416Kb), and it gave me a chance to play with Quicktime that I don’t usually get.
.mov File, 416Kb.
The photo is from another storm about 2 days earlier, but I was meaning to post it here anyway, so it fits.

An Open Letter
Posted on August 25, 2005To the guy in the Best Buy parking lot yesterday:
Please note that having an unattractive girlfriend does not make you “indie” or “emo”.
I’m sorry, but someone had to say it.

Ack! What Happened to My Robot Shuffle?!
Posted on August 23, 2005This is something I’ve been planning for a bit now. I wanted to make www.robotshuffle.com a hub for the other sites. So the blog is here now. I know I know, it’s confusing, but you’ll get used to it. With the streamlining, expect more photo posts on blog.robotshuffle, as well as some posts a la the old Robot Shuffle Autoblog, along the usual Robot Shuffle hijinks. I’m working on a better front page for www.robotshuffle.com, but it’s not done yet, so you get the quick and dirty all html version. I hand coded that, by the way. Just think, 12 years ago, that’s what all of the interweb looked like.
The server move is all done now, and I get internets hooked up at the apartment tomorrow, so I’ll be able to get the ball in motion for Robot Shuffle’s new future. Regular posting will return, and I will record a new podcast tonight for you guys too.
The Quorum is broke right now and I’m not sure why, but I’ll get it fixed, even if that means installing a new forum and risking losing all the old posts. But hopefully there will be a way to fix it with it coming to that.
That is all, check back tomorrow.

Robot Shuffle Podcast Number 2
Posted on August 16, 2005This baby is a bit longer than the last one, clocking in at 15:14. I managed to keep the size down to a managable 8.7mb while keeping the recording listenable, and this ‘cast features not one but two songs. I discuss some items from the news, and a few items about Robot Shuffle. Checkity check it, or else your a biggity bitch.
