OMG

Posted on July 20, 2005

Leaving the supermarket this morning… I watch as a woman on her mobile phone pulls her Chevy Trailblazer in and parks it right into the cart corral. Completely unaware that she’s got about 5 inches on either side of her before she hits the bright yellow bars that demarcate the sides of the cart corral. Watch her open her door, slam it right into the side of the corral, proceed to laugh SO HARD at her. She shoots me a dirty look and I decide to get out of there, as it was rather apparent that I was stopped just to watch her do that.

Setting up Your Home Bar

Posted on July 19, 2005

Ray over Ray’s Place has some good advice on collecting liquors for you bar. I’ll let the man do the speaking.

Okay, most of my readers know that I am sick of answering booze questions but it’s actually been a while since I advised on settin’ up a beginner’s drink stop, so here goes.

Liquor: Keep a clear and a brown on hand at all times, e.g. Ketel One and Jack Daniels. Buy the handles, as economies of scale come into play (are you in Econ grad school? Then you know what I mean).
Wine: Keep a red and a white on hand at all times. When choosing wines on the wine aisle, use this simple rhyme to make your selection: “Closer to the floor, is meant for the poor / closer to the lights, is more like for if Bono comes over”
Beer: Just keep a little six-pack of ale such as Sam Adams around. If people get into your beer then they are much more likely to recruit a couple other dudes and run to the corner store to pick up more.

Posted on July 16, 2005

Friday: Hot dogs and beer floats!
Saturday: Shelby’s birthday and celebrity.
Sunday: Corey turns 18; Corey and Chachi go to their first titty bar.

Should look to be pretty awesome.

Hit the Road and Go

Posted on July 13, 2005

A good playlist for when you’re out motoring in your auto-mobile.

If you’re an iTunes user, I made an iMix here. For some reason, it only listed 10 of the 15, even though all but one of the songs is available in the store. And 3 of the songs not listed I bought through the music store. But it’s there anyways. Cross-posted to Lincolnblog

Me (Watching a show about crackheads): Where do you suppose they get crack party hats from for their crack parties?
Marissa (Also watching the show, but in Virginia): At crack party stores… Duh.

Got an iPod the other day. <3333 as the Livejournal kids would say. I’d do a full write-up, but this late in the game a review of the 4G iPod is a bit overkill. Instead I’ll just say it’s awesome, and I love that I can sync my address book to it. Grabbed a neoprene case for it too by JIO or some nonsense. It’s a much better case than the cases that are available for the Shuffle. Easily accessible, and if I should choose, I could do all the basic functions of the iPod without having to take it out. It’s pretty sweet.

One of the members at the club was way slanted today, after having drank nearly a half of a bottle of vodka. (This guy regularly starts before 10 A.M.) He was talking to the elderly black man who shines the men’s shoes (I know, I know…) He calls the man over and says “Ya know, I wanna get drunk with you. Let’s go drinking tonight. We’ll get so drunk we can’t tell up from down. And we’ll go out and get some black pussy! I’ll call my wife and tell her I’m getting laid with you. We’ll tear it up!” He was really drunk so he was shouting this too. They could hear him downstairs in the family dining part. We were all staring at him in disbelief and laughing at the same time. It was great.

Holy Crapity Crap!

Posted on July 5, 2005

Shelby finally got a new car. It’s been a long process that took 6 months of selecting and narrowing down the options, but she’s now the proud owner of a 2000 Ford Focus ZX3 with a Kona Biking Package, complete with a bike rack and custom seat covers. It’s a 4 cylinder engine. 6-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in a rather decent set of rubber. Congratulations to her are in order. More pictures over at Flickr.

Quotable Quotes Today

Posted on July 3, 2005

Me, at work: “Working with you is only temporary, but having a beard stays sexy forever.”

Me again, at home: “I have to imagine that sucking John Popper’s cock is a lot like taking a Bavarian Bismark and just squeezing it into your mouth.”

And finally, Keith: “Did you know that Yakov Smirnoff has a bachelor’s degree in Ruso-American comparitive studies?
