Buyolympia.com T-Shirt Review
Posted on June 17, 2005I switched to this new design because Chachi didn’t like the old one. I like this one better anyway. Also, the photoblog has officially moved to my Flickr, just because I like it that way. You can easily get there via the random Flickr photo on the side bar. Labs and Autoblog have been integrated into Robot Shuffle. Badblogs will remain where it is now. On to the review.
The other week, I placed an order from Buy Olympia. Buy Olympia is a small, 2-person organization based in Washington that sells for other designers. The shirt that I ordered was the Futura shirt from Ampersand Clothing Co. They have four designs based on four different fonts: Futura, Helvetica, Garamond, and Chicago. (For all you Windows users, Chicago is an awesome old school Mac font.)

I ordered an XXL because my past experiences with American Apparel tend to shrink down a bit. About 4 days later, the shirt arrived in the mail, complete with a Buyolympia sticker for my fridge. But, a problem! The shirt I recieved was 2 sizes too small. I taped the package shut, wrote “Return to sender” on it, and wrote them an e-mail explaining what had happened. About two days later I got an e-mail back saying that they’d recieved the returned shirt, and they’d happily exchange it for me. The new shirt arrived even faster than the original, after about two days.
The shirt is a very comfortable cotton, a basic tee from American Apparel. I’ve washed the shirt twice now, and as I predicted, it had shrunk down to my actual size. The lettering has faded slightly, but nicely so, as though it were a vintage shirt. I enjoy the shirt, and the design, and despite the mix up with the sizes, they were very polite and I’d recommend checking them out. Especially the “Save the Fork” shirt.
