High School Yearbook Quotes, Vol. 1
Posted on September 9, 2004Borrowing an idea from The Mothership, (if more than two people do it, it’s not stealing, it’s a meme!), I’ve decided to go through a couple of my high school yearbooks and read through the old quotes and quips that people have left in there. This is part one of a two part bit, presenting the quotes from the 2001 East High yearbook. On to the fun….
Josh - Bwaah!
- Mark
Mark was always a man of few words.
Jesus Garcia -
It’s a good thing you were in my math class to enlighten us all with your enlarged brain. See you next year.
- Kyle (indecipherable)
As is the tradition in Spanish classes everywhere, we had to pick a name for ourselves. I chose the name Jesus Garcia, after a character on the telenovela Gotita de Amor. Oddly enough, I never did see Kyle again.
Josh-
It’s been fun knowing you. Bow down to the Peacemaker!
- Chu Lin Wong
In Spanish Class, we had a big stick, sort of a whittled-down baseball bat, with the words “Peace Maker” down the side. Chu and I often battled for, and with, the stick.
Don Jesus Garcia… It’s fantastic that you have discovered the delights and pleasures of knowing and loving latin girls. It’s the most fabulous thing ever.
- Sr. Pierce
I had been dating a few latin girls at the time… Good times. Translated from the original Spanish.
Josh → You are the shit, adv. algebra was with our little group in the back. Thanx for all of the help, Mr. Koenig is a fag.
- #20 Matt Wagner
In algebra, there was a small crowd in the back, about five or six of us, that practiced groupthink very regularly. I was usually the main provider of thinking to this group, but there you go.
Mr. Koenig was a fag.
Vivo mi pico mas tiempo gracias à viagra!
And on the 8th day, God created Jello
and it was wiggly
- Pimp Daddy Kane
Looking back now, I don’t remember who Pimp Daddy Kane was, but I think it was Kyle Atherton
Do me Josh!
- (anonymous)
Josh, it’s been a fun year, kinda. It was fun making of Koenig and insulting his intelligence.
- Bennet Martin
P.S. Remember to study your quadromomials!
Bennet and I had come up with the idea of quadramomials during adv. algebra. It’s a highly developed, highly advanced, mathematical theory.
Detroit What!
- Blake
I don’t know that Blake had even ever been to Detroit.
So much things to say….
- Alex Felton
Alex succinctly sums things up. He’s good at that.
…You still have another year left in this hellhole…
- Alissa Kuehn…Have fun next year, Ha-ha…
Kristina Bratt…It’s been cool being in Spanish with ya and working on the crossword + Jumble. Try to stay sane as possible next year.
- Dan Olig
All of my friends that were graduating seniors had to remind me that I still had another year left. Bastards.
Dan and I made sure to finish the crossword and the Jumble puzzle every day in Spanish class.
That’s all for this time… Come back soon for vol. 2, the 2001 East High Yearbook.
